The AFL Sweden Membership drive ran throughout the months of June, July and August with the goal to recruit new members to our clubs across the country. Members, whether social, juniors or senior players all play an important role in the wellbeing of a footy club. AFL Sweden will continue to encourage clubs to break new ground in membership recruitment in the coming years!
The prize for the club which was able to recruit the most new members was 2 Sherrin footballs.
We are happy to announce that the Port Malmö club were clear winners with a total of 31 new members during the drive.
Congratulations to the Malmö club and we hope that the newly registered members continue to be a vital part of your club in future years.
The 2017 International Cup, in Melbourne, Australia isfast approaching and it is now time for you to register your interest in playing for the Swedish men's national team ELKS.
AFL Sweden are now recruiting for two volunteer positions within the association. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our game and make it possible for our players to play the game they love.
The two positions available are:
Swedish Elks Team Manager - The men's national team are looking for a new team manager since the recent departure of AFL Sweden President Ryan Tucker from the post. The team manager is responsible for organisational duties surrounding the team and reports to the team coach. This includes booking fields/halls for training, booking accomodation, communication with players and AFL Sweden as well as administrative duties heading in to IC17. The team manager will also be expected to follow the team to Australia when they compete at the International Cup in August 2017.
Sponsorship Manager - AFL Sweden as a whole cannot function properly without the help of sponsors. The association realises that more focus needs to be put on procuring and maintaining sponsors within the sport at all levels and are therefore looking for an idividual that can take on this role. Sponsorhip is primarily needed for national teams in their bids to compete in international competitions but also in the development of umpiring and domestic football. The new sponsorship manager should posses the ability to work individually and have the drive and creativity to lift the sport to greater heights.
